MD Ranger, Inc. provides high quality market data on compensation arrangements between hospitals and physicians. Reports are designed to meet the business planning and compliance needs of health care organizations that seek to develop competitive financial arrangements with physicians that meet the test of fair market value.  MD Ranger™ administers a robust database that provides accurate, timely and cost-effective market data for a range of hospital-physician service agreements. Reports will include benchmark data on compensation arrangements for:

  • Emergency department coverage
  • Medical administrative and directorship services
  • Other physician service coverage arrangements (such as anesthesiology, emergency medicine, radiology and hospitalist services).

Annual reports will provide percentile values and other meaningful benchmarks for most standard agreements. In addition, the database will be a resource for indepth analysis of significant factors that often impact compensation such as level of service, depth of coverage, provision for unsponsored patients, multi-campus arrangements, and dual-panel arrangements.

Current methods for acquiring reliable market data can be burdensome, costly and incomplete. Most published physician compensation databases are limited to overall practice economics or suffer from insufficient sample size and level of detail. Ad hoc surveys are expensive to administer and may not provide sufficient detail to accurately evaluate comparability to a particular situation. MD Ranger™ represents a breakthrough in market data quality, availability and ease of data submission by employing subscriber-based data collection and standardized reporting. Broad participation ensures unprecedented sample size, timeliness, data consistency, anonymity and reliability. Confidentiality and Safe Harbor Compliance
MD Ranger™ assures strict confidentiality of individual hospital data through tight control over access to the information technology. All published reports will contain aggregated comparison data and statistics comprised of reliable sample sizes that meet the federal Safe Harbor guidelines.

Subscriber Organizations, Products and Fees
Hospitals purchasing a subscription will receive an annual set of standard reports that include most standard contracts. Subscribers may also purchase customized queries for specialized reports to address unusual situations. Prices are scaled to hospital size and there is a discount for fully participating multi-hospital systems.

Early Interest in MD Ranger™
Expressions of interest for subscription have been received from hospitals in the West and Midwest. We have signed a Preferred Vendor Agreement with the Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Association and have commitments or indications of interest from more than 95 hospitals. Our initial focus will be California, Oregon, Nevada and Arizona hospitals.
